AFRICA VOICES TRUST 2016/2017 PROGRAMME
The 2016/2017 Programme will be focussing on Musical Theatre/Musical Opera and our workshops will run concurrently with the development and preproduction of the Calling Me Home Musical Production. This will enable the participants to gain first hand experience of live rehearsals, the many and often complex activities of the creative and technical teams, preproduction and logistics, and all the behind the scenes essentials.
Selected participants will be given a chance to perform with some of the cast members from the musical and all of them will actively be involved in the community based activities that will run alongside the production.
The High School Studio Experience is a highly subsidised initiative which ensures that the vital learning ground of recording in studio becomes accessible, with the focus on providing a sustainable platform through which talent can be nurtured from an early age.
We are proud to announce that selected graduates will be showcased during the summer concert season at the Paul Cluver Forest Amphitheatre. We will also be conducting our community outreach in collaboration with the Themablitsha Foundation.
We are proud to endorse Africa Voices graduate Lana Crowster, who has been chosen to facilitate and lead a vocal ensemble which will be backing the powerhouse songstress Laura Burhenn (Mynabirds, Postal Service & Bright Eyes) on her South African tour in 2014.
