As part of their development the Africa Voices participants are required to provide knowledge and inspiration to rural, under-privileged or previously disadvantaged communities. We call this community involvement our “Legacy Work.” At the end of the programme each group of participants tour to selected schools and community establishments where they provide prepared workshops to engage and inspire the people.
These workshops include storytelling and performance and the focus is on giving momentum and credence to the belief that dreams can come true through music. Africa Voices doesn’t just want to develop great artists but socially responsible leaders.
Past-participants are also called upon during and after their involvement in the programme to assist with pro-bono performances for the Africa Voices Trust in order to raise funds. In this way they are able to give back to the Trust, and in so doing play their part in ensuring that further individuals benefit from our programmes.
