Born 19th April 1996 in Durban, South Africa, Alexandra Snyman is a Pop, light jazz, musical style singer who performes under the name of Alexandra May. She cites Celine Dion, Jason Mraz, Taylor Swift and Michael Buble as modern influences and Judy Garland, Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly as ‘old’ style inspiration. Song writing is important to Alexandra and she is determined to fulfil her dreams of being a successful recording and performing artist
Both a singer and an actress, Alexandra knew from a very early age that performing was her love and her family did all they could to equip her for your future. She entered singing competitions and won all that she could by the age of 15. She was cast as Belle in Peoples Theatre (Joburg Theatre Complex) – production of Beauty and the Beast at the age of 15 and held leading roles in a further four productions, including Ariel and Aurora. Alexandra received classical training and was selected to sing with both The Johannesburg Symphony and Randburg Symphony Orchestras. Other notable performances include Mnet/DSTV Functions alongside Trevor Noah, countless corporate events, government functions and in 2010 at FIFA Fan Fests in Gauteng. In February 2015, Alexandra was signed to the David Gresham record label.
